Kavitha Dey

Kavitha is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in engineering consulting in the public transport sector. She has been involved in a wide range of design and delivery issues including development of scope and performance requirements, management of the design process, and interpretation of technical requirements. She also has experience in safety change management and project risk management.

Kavitha has experience in the complete range of signalling services from feasibility through to concept and detailed design, construction, testing and commissioning and maintenance in NSW and Victoria.She has gained a thorough understanding of the road and rail interface (technical and non-technical issues) from her work on a variety of level crossing projects. Her work has included concept design services, safety impact assessment and decommissioning of crossings. She successfully managed the design co-ordination and stakeholder consultation with road authorities, local councils and other non-rail parties.

Kavitha has a strong understanding of the compatibility issues between modern rolling stock and the signalling infrastructure. She has experience in the testing of electric rolling stock as well as freight locomotives and has worked on electrical rolling stock and traction supply system projects developing her electrical engineering skills.
