Barangaroo Headland Park

The Headland Park was a committed deliverable by Government under the development agreement for the Barangaroo South extension to Sydney’s CBD. The opening date was to coincide with the opening of the first major buildings.

 

The Headland Park footprint was a former cove first used for as a flour mill, finger wharves and ship building. In the 1960’s the area was transformed to be a shipping container with a passenger terminal to the south. The transformation of Headland Park area to public space required a Business Case to demonstrate value to the community in line with supporting the urbanization of the areas to the south. 

InfraSol Group provided a diverse team that comprised associate organizations; TBH for programming, Value Network for economic assessment and business case documentation, and PlanComm for management of planning approval.

Post funding and planning approval InfraSol managed the reference design development for procurement of the Main Works contract in 2012

InfraSol lead the completion of the business case, planning approval and procurement of the Early Works contract to re-route Millers Point sewer and the Contract Manager to manage that and the subsequent Main Works contract.

The BDA required an integrated team approach to support a ‘thin’ client organistion. Our team embraced the client vision for public space, accessibility and functionality and it was a positive experience for all consultant teams working with BDA in a collaborative way to achieve the BHP outcome.
