Barangaroo Headland Park

Barangaroo Precinct Redevelopment

Barangaroo Headland Park

Client: Barangaroo Delivery Authority
Location: Kent Street / Hickson Road Sydney
Roles: Leadership reporting to the Development Manager for Headland Park
Budget: $200m in 2012

The Headland Park was a committed deliverable by Government under the development agreement for the Barangaroo South extension to Sydney’s CBD. The opening date was to coincide with the opening of the first major buildings.

The Headland Park footprint was a former cove first used for as a flour mill, finger wharves and ship building. In the 1960’s the area was transformed to be a shipping container with a passenger terminal to the south. The transformation of Headland Park area to public space required a Business Case to demonstrate value to the community in line with supporting the urbanization of the areas to the south.
